Tapping out text messages on a cell phone while driving is dangerous, the American Medical Association agreed on Monday, and supported state legislation to ban it.
Duh.
The thing is that most states already have a law against "distracted driving" , and I really can't think of too many things more distracting than that.
LOL slapping your kids in the backseat!
I really can't think of too many things more distracting than [texting].
Oh, I can think of several! :-)
Say, did they ever determine if that train driver was texting when the accident occurred? I recall a big deal about the suspicion, but haven't caught any follow up stories.... there was some national thing going on that usurped a lot of the news the last few months. (Seems to have died down somewhat recently, though. :-)
I've seen a guy playing his PSP while driving. I've seen several men shaving, women putting on makeup, and I even saw a person reading a book on the steering wheel!
People are just ridiculous. :-P
Chris from MN, re that train thing;
The train driver sent one about 60 seconds before the crash. and a bunch in the roughly 10 minutes before that.
He was probably busy texting when he passed the red light telling him to stop.

In public?!?! Wow! Some people just have no shame!
Well, that should go without saying.
Kind of a no brainer isn't it?
